En este libro se tratan, pues, dos temas verdaderamente importantes, como son los movimientos de rotación del buque entre olas de balance y cabeceo y el movimiento de traslación vertical, y los esfuerzos longitudinales, los esfuerzos cortantes, el momento flector y el momento de torsión del casco en aguas quietas y entre olas. El lector puede encontrar en su contenido aportaciones de orden práctico, sin necesidad de entrar en el conocimiento del por qué. El estudioso, por su parte, podrá hallar los fundamentos de la ola trocoidal, del movimiento del buque entre olas y de los esfuerzos que sufre, lo que lógicamente le permitirá sacar un mayor provecho y tener una base más solida para tomar sus decisiones en la práctica real.
