Описание: In the recent months the lashing rules of various classification societies have changed significantly.
Purpose of this company directive is to explain the various changes, and how to use the various
possible settings.
First, as you know the latest development in lashing patterns has been the implementation of external
lashing, when lashing bridges are higher than 2 tiers. With the external lashing, the vertical clearance
of the locks (twistlocks or full auto locks) will generate some additional forces in the lashing bars.
Therefore, the classification societies have decided to take into consideration the vertical clearance of
the locks in their lashing calculation. This changed drastically the way to calculate the lashing forces.
