is to develop a general design methodology for hybrid propulsion systems, with the focus on fuel efficiency. New technologies
and possibilities mean that ship propulsion systems have become increasingly more complex to design, while fuel prices have
been rising significantly over the last years. Fuel efficiency has become a more and more important topic concerning ship design,
but also in general view of the world since it influences the environmental issues. Not only should we look at alternative methods
for energy production, we should also make out existing methods as efficient as possible. This is of course also interesting from
an economic point of view, with the ever-­‐rising fuel prices.
