Description: Introduction to BALPURE:
Balpure is a ballast water treatment system that uses in-situ electrochlorination, a proven and efficient method for disinfection.
DNWT developed Balpure’s two-phase process concept: main flow filtration for ballast water and slip stream electrochlorination for treatment.
Main Flow Filtration filters the incoming ballast water down to 40 micron.
Slipstream Electrochlorination enables the BALPURE® system to operate in any water conditions (approx. 1% of ballast water is used).
Strong chlorination during ballasting restricts potential regrowth of organisms with a Cl2 residual after ballasting is complete.
Additional info: British Petroleum Owner's Benefit Package (OBP).
