Our country, although maritime by nature, has long lost its preponderance in that area, leaving its place to Anglo-Saxon influence, which has since set the tone, imposing its criteria on the rest of the community that groups maritime activity. Notwithstanding the importance that this represented for the international maritime sector in covering the shortcomings and carelessness of others, it can be said that they blocked any other external attempt that was not of their own origin. This situation has reached the extreme of not existing, in Spanish language, updated and university-level publication that allows laying the foundations to cover, not only the needs that the applied technology requires, but also those that open the research pathways that the sector expects to improve their business competitiveness and, especially, those that allow to minimize the tragic maritime accidents, resulting in large losses of human lives, without forgetting the negative consequences on the maritime environment. On the other hand, existing publications cause certain disturbances to those who receive it; In this sense, the bibliography available for university studies in Nautica causes a great deal of confusion, even in professionals, because the applications for warships are mixed together with those of sports vessels, all with the specific ones of merchant ships, situation that does not meet the requirement to provide clarity to academic objectives and their use by current and future professionals who receive them. This publication aims to provide an updated vision of the new maneuvering techniques, some of which still require efforts to deepen the criteria and rigor of the investigation, for immediate benefit to maritime safety and seafarers.
