Description: This Handbook is a complete and rigorous presentation of the fundamentals, methods and applications of the Global Navigation Satellite Systems, a reference work and a state-of-the-art description of GNSS. All global and regional satellite navigation systems (GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, QZSS, IRNSS/NAVIC, SBAS) are examined in detail. The functional principles of receivers and antennas, as well as the advanced algorithms and models for GNSS parameter estimation, are discussed.
The book is divided in seven distinct parts, each comprising a set of four to eight individual chapters with a common range of topics. For example part A covers the basics of GNSS, in part B one can find a description of all the global, regional, and augmentation systems. Part C presents signal processing, receivers, and antennas. Part D deals with the modern achievements in GNSS algorithms, while part E shows the classical absolute and differential positioning, as well as all the new achievements in precise point positioning and GNSS/INS integration. Part F is dedicated to surveying, geodesy and geodynamics, and Part G to remote sensing and timing. Each of the 41 chapters contains a list of references, from which the reader can deepen the topics. Two annexes show the different receiver and data formats and outline the various GNSS parameters.
