Description: With all eyes focused on transformations in digitalization and decarbonization, we as an industry need to commit ourselves as much to safety as to transformation.
DNV GL launched a new white paper on safety risks related to digitalization and decarbonization in the maritime industry. It intends to provide guidance to maritime stakeholders for controlling and mitigating these risks and to put them in a better position to take informed decisions about how to achieve and maintain smarter and carbon-neutral shipping.
The paper covers an outlook of approximately five years. We expect this to be a period characterized by the iterative development and implementation of rules and regulations as the industry rapidly evolves to using more interconnected digital systems and technology, and to performing vessel operations with reduced carbon emissions.
