Year: 2004 Language: english Author: Dr. Dhiren Gala Genre: Lectures Edition: 2nd Publisher: Navneet Format: PDF Quality: eBook Pages count: 98 Description: It can no longer be denied that it is impossible to wipe out diseases merely by medication. It also cannot be denied that we need to pay greater attention to the prevention of diseases rather than their treatment. People need to be educated and encouraged to take an active interest in their own health. They should be trained in nonmedical therapeutic systems which are effective as well as safe. Reiki therapy is one such system and, of late, has generated a lot of interest in the public. To cater to this curiosity, a number of books on Reiki therapy have been brought out. As we read these books, we realise that somewhere along the line, this essentially simple therapy has been converted into, and projected as, a complex system requiring a lot of mind-control, concentration and meditation. Moreover, its reputation has been tainted with mistruths and unreasonable claims of efficacy. This, of course, is a matter of great concern. We, therefore, feel that the time has come to establish the basic tenets of Reiki therapy. We have presented in this book the essence of Reiki therapy in a scientific, yet intelligible manner. Moreover, going against common practice, we have refrained from stocking the book with personal anecdotes and numerous accounts of miraculous case histories, that do nothing but impose pressure upon the reader's sense of logic. This book would not have seen the light of the day without the selfless help of a number of persons: my dear friend Jitendra Rana, who painstakingly researched the subject; Dr Rekha Rupani, Dr Nilesh Thaker, Dr Subhash Gokhale, Dr Jayesh Shah, Dr Manjushree Sengupta and Dr Kalpana Desai (Chandgadkar) who perused the manuscript and offered valuable suggestions; last but not the least, my family members who allowed me to spend on this book, such time of mine that was otherwise rightfully theirs. Suggestions for the improvement of this book are solicited and shall be positively considered at the time of bringing out future editions.
