Description: Human and the Sea: A Review of Thousands of Years of Relationship between Humans and the Sea in Iran is a bilingual book in Persian and English, published by the National Museum of Iran (NMI) in collaboration with the Ports and Maritime Organization of Iran (PMO) and the Iranian National Institute for Oceanography and Atmospheric Science (INIOAS).
The book comprises seventeen articles exploring maritime history in Iran, spanning from the Stone Age to the Qajar era. These articles are contributed by both Iranian and foreign scholars, including the Dutch Iranologist Wouter Franklin Merijn Henkelman.
Additionally, the book features photographs of tools related to sailing from different eras in Iran. These tools were showcased in an exhibition organized by the museum from the 15th of December 2019 to the 14th of February 2020.
