► About Best practice of safe anchor handling and towing of mobile offshore units
An anchor handling and towing operation includes all activities associated with a rig move, from when notification about the coming rig move is received, until the rig is anchored at the new location.
This application contains Statoil's "best practice for safe anchor handling and towing of mobile offshore units". The application is a schematic presentation of the anchor-handling operation, in which all processes and activities are systematised in a work process diagram.
The diagram divides the anchor handling operation into five main parts:
1. Planning and organising operation
2. Mobilising vessels, equipment and personnel
3. Preparing operation on the field
4. Implementing operation on the field
5. Demobilising and reporting
Each main process has underlying levels that also consist of definitive activities in the process diagram. You will find information linked to each individual activity. This information consists of a brief introduction, necessary documentation, and associated check lists and forms. Included in the implementation part are also risk elements, best practice and video/illustrations of the operation.
Every activity with a video clip attached, is marked with a video clip symbol. The video starts when double-clicking the process.
Some of the activities in an anchor-handling operation expose personnel to risk. These are marked on the diagram with a warning triangle, and a further description is given.
Read more about the flow diagram, the different functions and how to navigate in the application here.
