Description: There are many museums in London that detail Britain's experience during World War II. Some of the most well known museums fell under the jurisdiction of the Imperial War Museum with one of them being the warship HMS Belfast, which is located on the Thames River in London. A veteran of World War II in both the Atlantic and Pacific as well as in Korea during the 1950-1953 war, HMS Belfast escaped the scrap yard and became the third museum under the Imperial War Museum's jurisdiction in 1978.
