Description: This is a book of great interest to the collector of ship models and to the ship builder. The following pages describe and illustrate over sixty miniature ship models built by the author. They include not only English ships but such famous American names as the constitution, the Alabama and no less then ten smart Yankee clippers, and there are several vessels of Dutch and South African interest.
The historical period covered is from 700 B.C. to late 1960's, the types of models include scenic, waterline, full hull and the traditional Admiralty Board dockyard models. With one exception they are all to miniature scales ranging from 100'-1" to 16'1". The data sources, the ships themselves and the models are described in some detail.
