The Boat Master’s Guide to Navigating Caribbean Coasts
Year: 2016 Language: english Author: Judson Farray Format: PDF Quality: eBook Pages count: 358 Description: This is an introductory coastal navigation text book to be used in conjunction with training on board, online and or in a classroom, When a Boatmaster student has a term or phrase, he or she uses the table of contents and or index and or the table of figure to find a snippet of information that gives him a clue about what the phrase refers to. Many of the topics of the chapters in this book could be pursued at PhD level, so it would be impossible to delve deeply enough to satisfy inquiring minds. The book is a intended to be a good place to start research very much in the way that, as children, we played with little plastic spades in the sand on the beach but soon found out that excavators and backhoes are required for serious digging. This book is a child’s plastic shovel for maritime education. There are many, many self-assessment questions (SAQs) and many colour diagrams and tables to help you understand the topics. The book deliberately focusses on the Boatmaster working on the Trinidad coast and the author hopes to see similar books focussed on other coasts within the Caribbean.
