During ballasting, the incoming/ upcoming water goes through filtration, to remove particles and organisms larger than 40 microns. The filtered water will then enter the electrolysis module where the remaining viable organisms will be eliminated. During de-ballasting, the system main components are by-passed while the neutralization module is operating. Water is discharged overboard -after neutralization. Ιsokinetic G2 sampling port is placed on the discharge line enabling authorities to sample treated ballast water prior to discharge and verify BWTS operation and efficiency.
