Guidelines for Installations for Infection Control (Edition 1.0)
Year: 2022 Language: english Author: ClassNK Genre: Normative document Format: PDF Quality: eBook Pages count: 24 Description: For ships engaged in international voyages, the primary control measure adopted to date against the spread of infectious diseases has been quarantines. For all intents and purposes, however, quarantines do very little to prevent the transmission of infectious diseases among individuals on board a ship due to the nature of onboard accommodation environment that makes it extremely difficult to control their spread. This Guidelines for Installations for Infection Control (hereinafter referred to as the “Guidelines”) applies to ships (excluding passenger ships) registered with the Nippon Kaiji Kyokai (hereinafter referred to as “the Society”) that have implemented means to minimise the spread of infection diseases on board ship (hereinafter referred to as “infection control measures”) and for which applications for the affixation of special class notation to classification characters are submitted. The infection control measures specified in this Guidelines primarily apply to the installations, systems, equipment, and other means adopted by ships. This Guidelines also applies to the provision and use of medicines as well as medical devices and equipment not specifically referenced within, but such matters are also to be considered separately.
