Description: The present book is the work of D. E. Pedgley, B.Sc., and was written while he was a member of the staff of instructors at the Meteorological Office Training School. It is intended for the reader whose knowledge of physics is roughly equivalent to that of upper science forms in schools, although parts of the book are of a rather higher standard. These are included, in smaller print, for the benefit of those who are able to assimilate them and others whose interest may be aroused and who may thereby be induced to study the subject more deeply.
Mr Pedgley has had considerable experience in training staff who have entered the Meteorological Office with little or no previous knowledge of meteorology and in writing this book he has been able to draw on his experience. His work is confidently presented as an authoritative and methodical account of the elements of meteorology as they are taught today.
